Their distinctive striped flanks and broad, flat heads are unmistakable in the clear Keys waters. Real Florida waters see more tiger shark activity than almost anywhere else in the world.

An endangered and elusive big cat that would stalk the dense subtropical forests of Mount Kalaga. Fewer than 200 Florida Panthers remain in the wild — any sighting is extraordinary. Rockstar included pumas in GTA V and cougars in Red Dead Redemption 2. The Mount Kalaga biome is a direct analog of the real Big Cypress National Preserve, the Florida Panther's last stronghold.

Free-range chickens and roosters are a genuine fixture of rural South Florida and the Keys. Real Key West is famous for its hundreds of wild roosters that roam freely through the city, legally protected from removal.

Cattle were confirmed in Trailer 2, visible grazing in the open ranchland of central Leonida. Florida is actually one of the top cattle-producing states in the USA with over 900,000 head of cattle — a fact almost nobody outside the state knows. The Ambrosia region's wide pastures and working ranches make cattle a natural fit for livestock AI.

A miniature subspecies of white-tailed deer found exclusively in the Florida Keys — one of the rarest mammals in North America. Standing only 24–32 inches tall and weighing just 45–75 pounds, Key Deer are protected in the National Key Deer Refuge on Big Pine Key. Fewer than 1,000 survive in the wild. Their inclusion in the Leonida Keys would be an extraordinary ecological detail unique to this setting.

Invasive wild boars are one of Florida's most destructive animals, causing over $800 million in agricultural damage annually. Florida's feral hog population exceeds 500,000 and they root through swamps, farmland, and even suburban areas. Rockstar featured boars in Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Grassrivers biome provides ideal habitat — dense underbrush, mud wallows, and ample cover.

GTA VI's most photogenic bird, confirmed prominently in both Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 wading through shallow coastal lagoons near Vice City. The American Flamingo is the only naturally occurring flamingo species in North America. Real flamingos have been making a remarkable comeback to South Florida in recent years after a century-long absence — Rockstar's timing captures this real ecological story.

Cats are expected in Vice City's residential neighborhoods — lounging on sun-warmed car hoods, perched on balconies, and slipping through back-alley gaps. South Florida has a significant stray cat population, with Miami running active trap-neuter-return programs. Cat behavior AI from Red Dead Redemption 2 would translate naturally to the urban environment.

The ubiquitous city bird. Pigeons are expected in Vice City's plazas, parking structures, and near outdoor food vendors. In GTA IV, collecting 200 pigeons was a notable side mission — given the Florida setting, it's possible GTA VI revives a similar activity. The Laughing Gull — the most common seagull in South Florida — was visible in multiple coastal shots across both trailers, circling above the water near Port Gellhorn and along Vice City's beaches. Their distinctive 'ha-ha-ha' call is one of the defining sounds of the real South Florida coast. In GTA IV, shooting pigeons was a collectible mechanic; seagulls may serve a similar role in GTA VI.

The gentle giant of Leonida's waterways. Florida Manatees drift through crystal-clear springs and shallow coastal bays around the Keys, grazing on seagrass at a slow, peaceful pace. They are federally protected — striking one with a boat is a federal crime in the real world. Over 7,500 manatees inhabit Florida's waters, making them a near-certain Rockstar wildlife inclusion given the setting.

Ancient mariners of the deep — Green Sea Turtles glide over the coral reefs surrounding the Leonida Keys. They can live over 80 years and have nested on South Florida beaches for millions of years. Florida hosts the largest Green Sea Turtle nesting population in the US, with over 37,000 nests recorded annually on its beaches. They are protected under the Endangered Species Act.
