Rockstar's official Title Update 1.73 notes show that The Kortz Center Heist is only one part of the summer GTA Online update. The update adds a property-based art operation, seven launch vehicles, creator tools that push user-made missions closer to full scenarios, new weekly reward rules and a long list of fixes. This guide condenses the official notes into the changes that matter most to players deciding what to play, buy or build next.
Quick answer
If you already own a Mansion, the Art Studio is the gateway to the Kortz Center Heist. If you create missions, the same update is arguably more important for warp points, stealth rules, functional cameras, new interactables and expanded objective logic.
The Kortz Center Heist: What Update 1.73 Adds
Players can purchase an Art Studio for an owned Mansion through the Prix Luxury Real Estate website. The studio contains the planning board for a chain of prep missions and a finale focused on stealing works of art from the Kortz Center. Rockstar's notes say the artwork can be sold for profit or displayed in an owned Mansion, and the heist supports one to four players.
Prerequisite
Own a Mansion before buying the Art Studio upgrade.
Planning
Launch prep missions from the Art Studio board or call Raf De Angelis in Freemode.
Crew size
The heist can be completed by 1–4 players.
Reward loop
Steal art, sell it for profit or display it inside your Mansion.
Our Kortz Center Heist guide covers the property requirement, planning flow and investment question in detail. Update 1.73's official notes are the better reference for patch-level mechanics and fixes.
Seven New Vehicles at Launch
All seven launch vehicles can receive Missile Lock-On Jammer upgrades inside an owned Agency mod shop. GTA+ members can also use the Vinewood Club Garage workshop for those upgrades, according to Rockstar's notes.
Mission Creator: The Biggest Quiet Upgrade
Update 1.73 significantly expands the Mission Creator. Players can add warp points between locations, place functional CCTV cameras, configure actors and cameras to ignore players in selected outfits, create more elaborate objective chains and use additional interiors and world features on current-generation platforms and PC Enhanced. The update also adds new interactables, animations, actors and prop controls.
Stealth logic
CCTV and actors can be configured to ignore certain outfits, creating disguise-based stealth scenarios.
Mission flow
Warp points, more cutscenes, mid-mission inventory swaps and time-of-day progression let creators build more authored sequences.
Objectives
Creators can place up to 32 Objective Objects and use score limits, team progress limits and expanded interactable rules.
Replayability
Nominate up to 16 player-created jobs for the Next Job vote screen after playing a created job.
Economy and Heist Reward Changes
The update also changes how several older activities pay. Rockstar added a weekly completion bonus for a list of Contact Missions and heist finales when the host has not completed the associated finale during the current weekly period. Subsequent rewards are reduced if the same host repeats the activity in that period. Cayo Perico target appearance rates and values were also adjusted to refresh on the same weekly cadence, while setup rewards for Original Heists and The Doomsday Heist were increased.
- ◆The weekly bonus applies across selected missions and finales, including Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid, KnoWay Out and several classic heists.
- ◆Cayo Perico primary and secondary target refresh behavior now follows the same weekly cadence described in the notes.
- ◆Original Heist and Doomsday Heist setup mission rewards were increased.
- ◆An incorrect-payout issue for repeated Doomsday Heist Acts was fixed so rewards reflect intended values.
July 30 and August 5 Fixes
The latest notes are not just new content. Rockstar lists August 5 stability and security fixes, plus July 30 fixes for Kortz stealth detection, CCTV prompts, guard blips, mansion entry and finale flow. If the heist behaved inconsistently at launch, updating the game before diagnosing a route or payout problem is the first step.
Should You Play It Before GTA 6?
Yes, but choose the part of the update that matches your account. Established players with a Mansion can treat the Art Studio as a new repeatable heist hub. Players short on cash should not assume a headline art payout makes a multi-million-dollar property purchase an efficient first investment. Creators and players who enjoy custom missions may get more long-term value from the Mission Creator changes than from the new heist itself.
