How the GTASixGuide Research Desk separates evidence from expectation

GTA VI attracts extraordinary interest and an equally extraordinary volume of recycled rumors. Our job is not to make every unknown sound settled. It is to help readers see what Rockstar has actually published, what can reasonably be observed, what remains uncertain, and what changed when a new source appeared.

Key Takeaways

  • ▸First-party Rockstar and platform-holder material outranks anonymous reports and community interpretations.
  • ▸A visible object does not automatically confirm its official name, availability, price, controls, or gameplay function.
  • ▸Forecasts and estimates are labeled; they are never presented as announced features.
  • ▸Material corrections are made in the page and reflected in its updated date.

Our evidence labels

We use four practical labels because “real” and “fake” are not precise enough. Trailer footage can confirm that an animal, car, or location appears in official marketing without proving how it behaves in player-controlled gameplay. The label should match the narrowest claim the evidence supports.

Confirmed

A claim stated, named, pictured, or demonstrated by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, PlayStation, or Xbox in first-party material.

Observed

A detail visible in official footage or imagery, but not explained in enough depth to establish the full mechanic, model name, or player interaction.

Unconfirmed

A plausible report, community identification, prediction, or interpretation that lacks sufficient first-party confirmation.

Incorrect

A claim contradicted by an official source, a newer announcement, or evidence strong enough to require a correction.

Source hierarchy

For GTA VI facts, we begin with Rockstar’s GTA VI pages, Newswire posts, trailers, store listings, support articles, screenshots, and artwork. Regulatory filings and investor materials from Take-Two can establish corporate dates or financial guidance. Official PlayStation and Xbox store pages are useful for platform capabilities and availability. Reputable reporting may add context, but it does not silently become a Rockstar announcement.

  1. 01

    First-party publication

Locate the original page, image, video, store listing, support document, or filing.

  2. 02

    Claim-level verification

Check whether the source supports the exact wording. Not merely a broader or more exciting interpretation.

  3. 03

    Date and version check

Confirm that newer material has not replaced, narrowed, delayed, or contradicted the earlier statement.

  4. 04

    Reader-visible sourcing

Link decisive sources near the relevant claim when practical, especially in news and fact-check articles.

What we will not infer

A cinematic edit is not proof of a playable sequence. A recognizable real-world silhouette is not an official in-game model name. A Florida species is not automatically confirmed for Leonida. A patent is not evidence that a feature ships in GTA VI. A retailer placeholder is not a release announcement. We can discuss these clues, but the wording must preserve the uncertainty.

Checking before publication

Claims intended as fact must trace to first-party material or to a clearly attributed secondary source. Every fact is checked against its cited source, and each page gets a separate review pass before it is published. The corrections log lists what those reviews and readers have caught.

Updates and corrections

GTA VI information changes quickly. When a new official source materially changes a page, we update the text and its visible updated date. Straightforward spelling or formatting fixes do not receive a correction note. A factual reversal, wrongly attributed claim, or meaningful numerical correction should be acknowledged in the article so returning readers can understand what changed.

If you find a problem, send the page URL, the sentence at issue, and the best available original source through our contact page. We review evidence, not popularity: a widely repeated claim can still be unsupported. Every material correction is dated on the corrections log, and the method is described on how we research.

Independence, funding and update cadence

GTASixGuide is an independent fan publication. Rockstar, Take-Two, Sony and Microsoft do not review, fund or approve our pages, and we accept no payment for coverage. The site is free to read. Advertising may help fund hosting and research, and commercial considerations never change an evidence label or a factual conclusion. We currently have no affiliate links; if that changes, they will be disclosed on the page.

Time-sensitive pages (release, pre-order, preload and store details) are re-read against first-party sources whenever Rockstar or the platform holders publish something new, and each shows its updated date. Pages are published by the GTASixGuide Research Desk, our editorial team; we do not use personal bylines or invented staff profiles.
