How We Research
How a GTA VI page gets from a first-party source to the site
GTASixGuide is a fan-run research desk, not a Rockstar site. Every fact on a page should trace to a source you can open, and every page should say when we last checked it. This page explains how. The evidence labels and the full list of rules are in the editorial policy.
Where facts come from
We start with the original: Rockstar's GTA VI pages and Newswire posts, trailers and screenshots, Rockstar Store and Support pages, Take-Two filings, and the PlayStation and Xbox store listings. Where a first-party page cannot be read, the page says which claim rests on an earlier read and when. Named outlets, such as Digital Foundry, are cited by name and a claim that rests on them is labelled Reported, never blended into our own voice.
How prices, dates and times are checked
Store prices, editions and pre-order terms are read on the stores themselves, region by region, and each table says which store and which currency it shows. The unlock-time tool uses the time Rockstar and the stores print, converts it with the arithmetic shown, and says plainly that no official unlock time has been published. Pages show a published date and, when something material changes, an updated date and a short log of what changed.
What we do not do
- ▸We have not played GTA VI, and no page claims hands-on knowledge before release. We do not publish leaks, scores or reviews of a game that is not out.
- ▸A detail seen in a trailer is labelled Observed; it is not called a confirmed name, mechanic or price.
- ▸Forecasts and estimates are labelled as ours and never presented as announced features.
How pages are checked
Every fact is checked against its cited source, and each page gets a separate review pass before it is published. The corrections log lists what those reviews and readers have caught.
How the site is funded
The site is free to read. Advertising may help fund hosting and continued research. We have no affiliate links, and commercial considerations never change an evidence label or a factual conclusion.
