Rockstar's campaign so far is a short list of dated Newswire posts, and none of them is a third trailer. The posts are the cover art and pre-order date (18 June), pre-orders (25 June), the Extended Look (announced 6 August, aired 27 August), the soundtrack album (17 September) and the Collector's Box (24 September). Earlier versions of this page said Trailer 3 was expected in August and that 40 million first-year sales were projected. Neither is a Rockstar or Take-Two statement, and the first was overtaken by events, so both are removed.

What the pattern shows
Reading only the official posts, Rockstar used its Newswire for each step: the Extended Look was announced 21 days before it aired, and the Netflix and YouTube premieres are the one beat that differs from the two earlier trailer posts. What the campaign does not contain is a feature list. Platform, date, editions and the album are stated; resolution, frame rate, radio stations and online modes are not.
